Lately, I’ve been making my own movie posters. Would you like to see a few of them? Yes?

This one is for my favorite Kung Fu movie, “Five Fingers Of Death”.

“Five Fingers Of Death” has everything you need from a Kung Fu movie. It’s the one I go to if I’m trying to help somebody develop an interest in the genre. If they don’t like it, I’ll go to something like “Ip Man” or maybe “Drunken Master.” And if they don’t like “Ip Man” or “Drunken Master” then they don’t like Kung Fu movies.

The next poster is for an upcoming movie that has an incredible trailer, Dev Patel’s “Monkey Man”.

I have really high hopes for this movie…

Next up is an indie movie called “Medicine For Melancholy” starring Wyatt Cenac and Tracey Heggins.

It’s a movie about a relationship that probably shouldn’t have ever happened in the first place, but it’s beautifully shot with a great cast and a great soundtrack. One of my all time favorite movie scenes is when the two characters go for a meandering walk that ends with them riding on a carousel.

This next one is an illustration I did for The Ringer a few years ago. I added the credits and the title and turned it into a poster, “Do The Right Thing”.

Spike Lee bought it from me and was selling it as postcards in his Brooklyn shop for a while. He couldn’t have been nicer or more encouraging.

One more, “Queen & Slim”.

This one functioned as a portfolio piece. It helped me land a few worthwhile illustration gigs.

See you at the movies.

Cheers.
